I've beaten the game once with a Me/Mo. Yeah it sucked, and it was hard, but in the end it makes you a better player than most. It gets you to think about what you do, because otherwise you'll just plain die. I'd suggest you go ahead with a Me/Mo because Mo is great support class for such a weak primary.

Well, I've got it down to either:

-Monk/Mes
or
-Mes/Monk

I think either combo would suit me. It'll probably come down to a coin flip :-)

If you go monk primary, prepare to take some sort of healing/prot role, or be screamed at by hordes of people who presume they've picked up a healer. Even if you tell them you're not.
But hey, monk primaries always get a group.

Theres also alot of versitility when playing necromancers.

GIve it a try, you'll enjoy the many different builds there are for them.

As far as underpopulated professions go, Mesmers are probably at the top of the list. They're also potentially one of the most powerful, and are definitely one of the most underappreciated.
Also one of the most boringest, atleast thats what I thought when i played mesmer but now its fun.

Start by making a PvP character from one of the templates. They can give you a rough feel of what the professions are like (even though the builds themselves are poor).

I think I'll quote this for emphasis. When people are putting together a pickup group they almost always look at your primary class when choosing who to add. A monk primary who doesn't spend most (or all) of their time looking after their allies' health is in for a tough ride. Monks are the most rigid class in this regard but it happens to a lesser extent with almost all characters.

that's why i'm putting so much thought into my primary. i want to make sure i'm prepared for what'll be required so i can stick with it.
